Marquis interviews Sean Bagniewski, Chair of the Polk County Democrats about organizing and activism in the age of Covid-19. Marquis and Sean talk about the move to digital organizing, the Polk County Steak Fry, how volunteers nationwide can get involved in the fight for IOWA and Marquis accidentally breaks into his Obama impression.
As chairman of the Polk County Democrats, Bagniewski has reinvigorated the state’s largest county party operation, bringing it back from the brink of bankruptcy. Backed by a strong network of volunteers and activists, Bagniewski has spent the last year taking on and pulling off big events that highlight the range of Democratic voices within the party. Any presidential hopeful visiting the state will be talking to him and his team.
